Gas appliances

As a Gas Safe registered engineer I am qualified to service, repair and install domestic gas appliances such as gas boilers, gas fires, gas stoves, gas hobs and gas ovens.

While gas is a convenient fuel to use in domestic heating and cooking, there are many risks associated with unsafe gas appliances.

These risks include:

  • Gas leaks
  • Fires and explosions
  • Carbon monoxide poisoning

Gas appliance servicing

In order to ensure the safe operation of the gas appliances in your home, it's recommended that you have them serviced annually.

This doesn't just apply to gas boilers and gas fires, but also gas hobs and ovens.

If you're a landlord it's also a legal requirement that such appliances are checked each year, so this may be a great opportunity to carry out a full service of each appliance to make sure they're operating as they should.

Gas appliance repair

If your gas appliance breaks down or I identify a problem while carrying out the gas safety check, I can effect a repair to the appliance to get it back up and running safely.

Gas appliances tend to be fairly simple and most issues are caused by blockages, ignition failure or problems with the gas supply to the burners. While you may be tempted to fix your own gas oven, please bear in mind that many repairs can only be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Repairs to gas carrying or combustion components must not be attempted unless you have the appropriate qualifications.

Gas appliance installation

If you've just purchased a new gas appliance—perhaps a gas oven or range cooker with a gas hob—you'll need a Gas Safe registered engineer to connect it to your gas supply, and that's where I come in. I have over 30 years' experience of installing gas appliances and have a reputation throughout Burnley and Pendle for working quickly and professionally.

I can also advise you on the most appropriate gas appliance for your home and help you choose the perfect model to replace an existing unit.

Don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your gas appliance servicing, repair and installation requirements. I'm always happy to help.

Landlord gas safety certificate

A landlord gas safety certificate (CP12) is required by law and a check must be carried out every 12 months if you own a rental property where gas appliances are present. As a Gas Safe engineer I am qualified to check gas appliances, fittings and flues.
